The new hotel will mark the first luxurious four-diamond hotel to open in Disney’s Anaheim resort in almost 20 years. The property is planned as an entry for “a new gateway” to the resort. It’ll be located on the west end of the park’s Downtown Disney district. “Extensive landscaping and water elements will create a resort oasis, showcasing nature on every level of the hotel.” It will feature ground-level shops and eateries, two pools, a high-end rooftop restaurant, and a platform for the park’s monorail. (Contributed photo/Lane Thomas Foundation) The number of alligators captured at Walt Disney World has more than doubled since a Nebraska boy was killed during an alligator attack at the Orlando resort last year. News 6  reported Florida wildlife records show that state-contracted trappers have captured more than twice as many alligators since the June 2016 attack - from 45 to 95 - as compared to the 15 prior months. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission approved Disney for a special permit to allow them to exceed state limits and remove nuisance alligators from its waters. On June 14, 2016, 2-year old  Lane Graves died  after an alligator pulled him into the water as he played near the shore of the Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The alligator involved in the attack, along with six others, were captured shortly after

‘Ventana’ A Magical Animated Short Created By Disney’s Summer Interns

Image
This summer Walt Disney Animation Studios offered a “talent development” internship program.  Here students could  work in the Disney Animation Studio and learn about  film making while improving their skills. Disney just released an amazing short created by the summer interns called  Ventana .  It was created over a two month period by the Disney Summer 2017 Interns. It’s the story of a girl who seems trapped in her life, until she discovers a paper dragon. The dragon moves around the room and then leaves, giving her a choice to stay or to go.  It’s very well done and definitely feels like a Disney piece.  I’m impressed they did so much so quickly.  I love how expressive the girl is throughout. This really would be an amazing experience!   The Oh My Disney blog interviewed Apollonia Thomaier.  She worked as a story intern on  Ventana,  and her mentor was Brian Kesinger, a head of story at Disney Animation. The user shared a photo of the funky looking cake on Reddit, explaining later in the comments section that they originally brought a local bakery a photo of an impressive looking Minnie Mouse cake, and asked the bakers to replicate it. Needless to say, what ehsan got wasn't exactly what they expected. As the original cake features three layers decorated with pink, white, and black fondant topped off with an image of Minnie Mouse in what appears to be the form of a cookie, the cop
